Attendance and Leave of Absence
At Badshot Lea, staff alongside the local authorities, Ofsted and the Department for Education (DfE), firmly believe that all children benefit from regular school attendance.
We are fully committed to promoting school attendance by aiming to provide an ethos and environment where children feel safe and can build positive relationships with their peers. To this end we will do all we can to encourage parents to ensure that the children in their care achieve maximum possible attendance and that any problems that prevent full attendance are identified and acted on promptly. We expect that in return parents ensure their child attends school regularly and punctually and that any absence in term time is avoided.
Please find a copy of our ‘Attendance – a guide for parents and carers’ leaflet below. Please take time to read through the information contained in the leaflet and familiarise yourself with the expectations.
We monitor the attendance of all pupils on a regular basis and registers are checked termly by the Education Welfare Officer. Letters will be sent to parents of children whose attendance is causing concern.
Further information can be found in our Attendance Policy which is available below.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter,
